Joseph L. Penick

Principal

Joe is a senior consultant with a broad knowledge base. He consults on defined contribution, defined benefit, and medical plans. While Joe’s current focus is defined contribution plans consulting, he also assists our HR and Benefits Administration Consulting Practice in implementing outsourcing arrangements, focusing on automation and accuracy of benefit communications. Some of Joe’s special areas of expertise are QDRO drafting/administration and compliance with IRC and EBSA communication requirements.

Joe’s career in benefits consulting began in 1990 with another national consulting firm, where he remained until joining Curcio Webb in 1998. An expert in defined contribution plans (including non-qualified deferred compensation plans), his experience with outsourcing has led to his performing many other varied hands-on projects, such as development of entire QDRO administration systems, defined benefit plan calculation testing, and in-depth analyses of non-qualified plan FICA taxation.

Joe received a BS in mathematics from Santa Clara University, with a business minor.
