T. William (Bill) Van Oss
Principal
Bill is a senior consulting actuary working with clients to design and administer their pension and retiree medical plans. He specializes in custom retirement plans that maximize tax deductions and minimize costs using sophisticated IRS approved techniques. He brings a unique blend of small plan and large plan expertise to corporations, partnerships, non-profit organizations, unions, and governmental agencies.
Bill began his actuarial career in 1987 and has worked for three national consulting firms prior to joining Curcio Webb. He has been the lead retirement consultant for several mid-sized and large organizations in several industries and has experience with: complex plan designs and nondiscrimination testing, plan terminations, acquisitions, actuarial valuations, union negotiations, early retirement windows, cash balance plans, choice plans, pension equity plans, cross-tested plans, safe-harbor plans, and non-qualified plans.
Bill is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He is also an Enrolled Actuary and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, and the Western Pension & Benefits Conference. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
